Brigadier General Alexander Tawasimi has assumed as the 44th Commander of 2-Brigade, Nigerian Army, following his tenure as Commander of the 8 Division Garrison in Sokoto State.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Brigade’s Public Relations Officer, Lieutenant Adebowale Adejimi, on Wednesday during a brief handover ceremony at the Brigade Headquarters in Mbiokporo Military Cantonment, Nsit-Ibom Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State.
Outgoing Commander Brigadier General Jafaar Ibrahim marked the transition by commissioning several key projects before officially handing over signed documents and the command flag to Brig Gen Tawasimi.

In his farewell address, Brig Gen Ibrahim expressed gratitude for the support received during his tenure and encouraged personnel to extend the same cooperation to his successor.
The ceremony concluded with the traditional lowering of the outgoing Commander’s flag and the hoisting of the new Commander’s flag at the quarter guard, symbolizing the complete transfer of authority to Brig Gen Alexander Tawasimi.
